Privacy Policy | Local Optimizer

This privacy policy is a template to be reviewed by legal counsel before publication.

1. Data controller

[COMPANY_NAME] ([COMPANY_LEGAL_FORM]) is the data controller for the Local Optimizer website and service. You can contact us at [COMPANY_EMAIL].

Registered office: [COMPANY_ADDRESS]. Company registration: [COMPANY_REGISTRATION]. Publication director: [PUBLICATION_DIRECTOR].

2. Local browser processing

Local Optimizer is built so that image and SVG processing happens entirely on the client side. Files are processed in your browser, and they are never uploaded to or stored on a server when you use the converter.

In the current version, we do not intentionally collect personal data from the converter itself. For visitors in the EEA and the UK, Google AdSense, Google Analytics 4 (GA4) and Microsoft Clarity load only after consent is managed through a Google-certified CMP using Google Consent Mode v2.

When consent is granted, these tools may set tracking or advertising cookies, or similar identifiers, for advertising, measurement and session analysis.

  • No file transfer to our servers.
  • No server-side storage of uploaded files.
  • Google AdSense, Google Analytics 4 (GA4) and Microsoft Clarity load only after consent in the EEA and the UK.

3. What data we process, legal bases and retention

Because the service runs locally, the only data that may be processed is the technical information necessary to serve the pages and keep the site secure. The legal basis is our legitimate interest in providing and securing the website.

If you contact us, we process the information you send to respond to your request. We keep that correspondence only for as long as needed to handle the request and meet legal obligations.

For analytics and advertising, we use Google AdSense, Google Analytics 4 (GA4) and Microsoft Clarity. In the EEA and the UK, these tools load only after you give consent through a Google-certified CMP using Google Consent Mode v2. The legal basis for these tools is consent, and you can withdraw consent at any time.

4. Your rights

Where applicable, you may request access, rectification, erasure, restriction, portability and objection. You may also withdraw consent at any time when processing is based on consent.

You have the right to lodge a complaint with your local supervisory authority. In France, this is the CNIL.

5. Hosting, subprocessors and international transfers

The website is hosted by [HOSTING_PROVIDER]. At the moment, the converter is designed to operate without sending your files to subprocessors. If that changes in the future, this policy will be updated before deployment.

If any transfer outside the European Economic Area becomes necessary, it will be carried out with appropriate safeguards.

6. Cookies

The website uses Google AdSense, Google Analytics 4 (GA4) and Microsoft Clarity when the relevant consent has been granted. In the EEA and the UK, those tools are loaded only after consent is managed through a Google-certified CMP using Google Consent Mode v2.

Once consent is granted, these tools may set cookies or similar identifiers for advertising, audience measurement and session analysis. You can withdraw or change consent at any time through the consent controls.

We also use Vercel Web Analytics and Vercel Speed Insights, which are cookieless and collect only aggregated, anonymous usage data, so they run without requiring consent.

7. Contact

For questions about this policy or your data, contact [COMPANY_EMAIL].
